I was 25 years old when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was a complete shock. I was young, healthy, and had no family history of the disease. But there it was, a small lump in my breast, that would change my life forever.

The next few months were a blur of doctor's appointments, tests, and treatments. I had surgery to remove the lump, followed by chemotherapy and radiation. It was a physically and emotionally grueling experience, but I was determined to fight.

One of the most difficult things about cancer was the uncertainty. I didn't know if I would survive. I didn't know if I would ever be able to have children. I didn't know what the future held.

But even in the midst of all the uncertainty, there was one thing I was sure of: I wanted to be a mother. I had always dreamed of having a family, and I wasn't going to let cancer take that away from me.

After I finished treatment, I started looking into my options for having children. I met with a fertility specialist, who told me that my cancer treatments had damaged my ovaries and that I was unlikely to be able to conceive naturally.

I was devastated. I had fought so hard to beat cancer, and now it was telling me that I couldn't have the one thing I wanted most.

But I refused to give up. I explored every option available to me. I tried fertility drugs, acupuncture, and even IVF. But nothing worked.

Just when I was about to give up hope, I heard about a new procedure called egg freezing. Egg freezing is a process where a woman's eggs are harvested and frozen before she undergoes cancer treatment. This allows her to have children after treatment, even if her ovaries are damaged.

I decided to try egg freezing. It was a long and expensive process, but it was my only chance at having a biological child.

In 2016, I gave birth to my beautiful daughter, Ava. She is the greatest gift in my life, and I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to become a mother.

Cancer changed my life in many ways. It taught me the importance of living each day to the fullest. It taught me the strength of the human spirit. And it taught me the true meaning of love.

I am a cancer survivor, and I am a mother. I am living proof that anything is possible.
