Chapter 1: The Hunter Emerges

Enter Inspector Frederick Abberline, a brilliant and determined detective who was assigned to the case. Abberline was determined to catch the Ripper, no matter what it took.

Chapter 2: The Clues

Abberline began his investigation by examining the crime scenes. He quickly realized that the Ripper was targeting prostitutes, and that he was using a surgical knife to kill them.

Chapter 3: The Suspects

Abberline soon had a list of suspects, but none of them seemed to fit the profile of the Ripper. He began to suspect that the Ripper was someone who was able to move freely around London, and who had a medical background.

Chapter 4: The Breakthrough

Abberline's breakthrough came when he received a letter from a woman who claimed to have been attacked by the Ripper. The woman described her attacker in detail, and Abberline realized that he was a man named Montague John Druitt.

Chapter 5: The Chase

Abberline tracked down Druitt to a boarding house in Whitechapel. He knew that he had to catch Druitt before he could kill again.

Chapter 6: The Confrontation

Abberline confronted Druitt in the boarding house, but Druitt was armed and dangerous. A violent struggle ensued, and Abberline was nearly killed. However, he managed to subdue Druitt and arrest him.

Chapter 7: The Trial

Druitt was tried and convicted of the murders of the five women. He was sentenced to death and hanged in 1889.

Epilogue: The Legacy

The capture of Jack the Ripper was a major victory for the police, and it brought an end to the reign of terror that had gripped London. However, the Ripper's identity remains a mystery to this day.

In his new book, Stalking Jack the Ripper, author James Patterson reveals the true story of the man who hunted down the infamous serial killer. Patterson's book is a gripping account of the investigation and trial, and it sheds new light on one of the most notorious unsolved crimes in history.
